The State cannot give you love. Your family can, because it is an intimate community of love, of life shared with real people of your own flesh and blood.

“Love—caritas—will always prove necessary, even in the most just society (…) There will always be suffering which cries out for consolation and help. There will always be loneliness (…) The State which would provide everything, absorbing everything into itself, would ultimately become a mere bureaucracy incapable of guaranteeing the very thing which the suffering person—every person—needs: namely, loving personal concern."

(Benedict XVI, in Encyclica Deus caritas est, 28)

The family is a human institution which ensures unique personal care that is completely free. In the family, everything is an open opportunity to develop as a person. The family is both the root and the fruit of human generosity.
There is no greater generosity than parenthood. The family is the school of life, in which we learn to give without expecting to receive, we learn to listen, to forgive, to be a person.
